Who we are

Roberts Analytics (Pty) Ltd is a Johannesburg-based consultancy specialising in town planning, geographic information systems (GIS) and project management in the built environment. Our services are for government and private-sector clients with land use, development and infrastructure assignments.

The practice is founder-led and deliberately focused. Clients deal directly with the founder, and each assignment draws on the disciplines it needs.

The expertise behind the practice

Robert Ndebele

Founder · Professional Planner (Pr Pln)

Robert Ndebele founded Roberts Analytics to bring planning, spatial analysis and programme delivery together in one practice. He is a registered Professional Planner with more than a decade of experience across town planning, government development projects and infrastructure programme advisory.

His career began in public-sector development planning, supporting strategic spatial planning and statutory processes, and preparing feasibility studies, investment-readiness assessments and business cases that informed development and capital investment decisions.

As a senior town planner he managed government urban and rural development assignments from scoping through delivery, coordinating work programmes, schedules, budget inputs and quality assurance, and led a team of junior planners. He also supported capital prioritisation and early project scoping with development-finance stakeholders.

His experience also extends to the governance and performance of large infrastructure capital programmes: portfolio and financial-performance reviews, integrated programme schedules, programme-management maturity assessments, procurement diagnostics and scopes of work, financial modelling, and analytical inputs to infrastructure financing advisory.

Robert holds an MBA from the University of Warwick, which he completed as a Chevening Scholar, and both an MTech in Construction Management and a BTech in Town and Regional Planning from the University of Johannesburg. He serves on the Industrial Advisory Board of the University of Johannesburg’s Department of Urban and Regional Planning.
